Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American dancer, actress and performer since the beginning of the 1990s. As a young actress, she appeared in Broadway performances, she starred in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. Her first Tony Award was given to Ashford for her performance as Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Tony Award-winning actor Annaleigh Ashford is a veteran of the majority of her time working with some of the most acclaimed directors and actors across stage film and television and she is continuing her award-winning work with several upcoming projects. Ashford is scheduled to be in the role of Kumail Nanjiani as Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It will premiere on 22nd November. Ashford's current project is Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust and he will be starring with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. The film will be aired on Disney DTC as a Hulu Original. Ashford is set to appear as Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for the upcoming March 2023 revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), the same duo who produced Hamilton, will direct the show. Ashford played Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, based off the scandal which included Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp during the national crisis. In two seasons, Ashford was a star of CBS's hit comedy B Positive. The show was developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the legendary Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not unfamiliar with Broadway was awarded both Tony Drama Desk Awards as in addition to Outer Critics Circle Awards in her character in the role of Essie. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde are just a few of her Broadway credits. Born and raised in Denver Ashford is now dividing her time between Los Angeles and New York.
